The Associazione Farmaceutici Ticinese (AFTI), founded in 1982 on the initiative of Dr. Pierfranco Livio, former Cantonal Pharmacist of the Canton of Ticino, aims to unite professionals and technicians in the local pharmaceutical industry to keep practitioners up-to-date on developments in the sector.
Special attention has been given to educational support for local companies, promoting the sharing of knowledge and technologies to ensure quality in the industry and reduce risks to patients.
With a Steering Committee and Auditors, AFTI provided ongoing support to its members in terms of training, creating a common environment and promoting job opportunities.

ISPE is committed to the advancement of the education and technical efficiency of its members through forums for the exchange of ideas and practical experience.
Founded in 1980 by professionals convinced that the pharmaceutical industry needed an organization focused on the practical application of science and technology, ISPE began as an association of engineers in North America, then expanded to embrace a broad representation of pharmaceutical professionals.
ISPE guides and facilitates the development of next-generation process technologies and innovative technical solutions.
On regulatory issues, the focus is on those requirements that influence-or will influence-the licensing of facilities, manufacturing processes, and operations, and on supply chain sustainability in the product life cycle. ISPE provides a neutral environment in which its members and experts from Regulatory Authorities can have an open dialogue on issues that will ultimately benefit patients around the world.
ISPE supports the Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Leadership Forum (GPMLF).
